How to use?
It's best to roast them until golden brown before use (for example, 10 minutes in an oven at 160 degrees Celsius), but this isn't necessary. Chop them into small pieces or crush them in a mortar and pestle and add them to your (Indonesian) stew. It thickens sauces and makes them more hearty. Kemiri has a rich, nutty, and slightly bitter flavor. Stored in an airtight container, they can be kept for years. For bulk consumers, ready-made kemiri paste is also available.
