Hey! How’s it going? It’s Gembira! Hope you’ve had an awesome week! Today, I want to tell you about one of my favorite Korean dishes—bibimbap!
Bibimbap means “mixed rice.” It started out as a simple way to use leftover veggies and rice, but now it’s this colorful, fresh meal where every ingredient brings something different to the table!
What makes bibimbap so great is how all the flavors and textures come together. You’ve got warm rice, fresh veggies, a fried egg, and that spicy kick from gochujang, which really ties everything together! It’s comforting but also full of flavor.
What I love about bibimbap is how flexible it is! You can add whatever veggies or meat you like, which is why it’s so popular at home and in restaurants.
There’s no real rule about what to add, but I usually go for gochujang, shiitake mushrooms, and roasted seaweed strips. Just layer the rice with the mushrooms and seaweed, top it with a fried egg, add a spoonful of gochujang, mix it all up, and enjoy!
Best regards, Gembira
